Paying to Watch an AD

Dec 12, 2017

Do you think that you would ever pay to watch an Ad?

Recently, I had the good fortune of visiting the CNN headquarters in Atlanta (US) with my family and a couple of old friends. We were there on a tour of the CNN facility (aside from the many tourist attraction in Atlanta e.g. Cocoa Cola Centre, Six Flag Amusement Park, Atlanta Downtown etc.), CNN is one of the go-to places for tourist. CNN receives an average of 1,500-2,000 persons per day.

After taking the tour, seeing how news is being televised live around the globe (with over 1,200 staff between CNN Domestic and CNN International). Our final stop was a 3 minutes’ video/film viewing session about CNN, though I had taken this tour 3 years ago, this is a new addition.

Did I mention that when we finished the tour, a picture of my family was waiting for us at the exit point (next to the CNN store where you can buy memorabilia)? Talk of marketing experience. Of course, we paid for the pictures (nothing in this world is FREE!)

Cool Facts: Ted Turner is no longer the owner of CNN, he sold it years ago to Time Warner but what is important to note is that the building that houses the CNN center complex and the OMNI Hotel (which is next door to CNN) still belongs to him. What out for next article on Ray Kroc and McDonalds.
