Leadership

Start them early

Jul 17, 2018

In 2016, I was at a conference in Florida, United States that had over 3,000 attendees and I saw two young kids (siblings aged 10 and 13 years) come on stage to address us along with their father (Christian Simpson) who was one of the facilitators. The kids showed tremendous confidence, they spoke like professionals, and they were not one bit intimidated by the mammoth crowd (if they were nervous they did not show it). By the time they were through, we were all on our feet giving them a standing ovation.During the lunchtime, I had the rare opportunity of sharing a table with a family of five (A man his wife and 3 kids aged between 10 and 14 – 2 boys, 1 girl) who were attendees at the same conference. I asked the father why he brought his children to a Leadership conference (supposedly meant for adults and know how much I paid to be there myself), he said to me, he wanted them to learn how to lead themselves and others and that as a child, he did not have such opportunity when he was younger so this was one important investment he was going to make in his own children. I was blown away.

I left that event transformed and totally changed. I told myself if there is any gift I would like to always give my children it was the gift of learning and starting out early. That is why I am running this Summer Camp program I am running next week Monday

Listen to this 1-minute video recording. Hear from my own kids, what your children will be learning during this summer boot camp. Share with your friends and family that may require it. Thank you as you do so. Here is the link to register https://summercamp.suleimanshaibu.com
