Why Do We Hold Meetings
It's Monday.
Who is happy that it is a Monday? Yah Yah
What is the difference between what was said in the Friday meeting and today?
Are you holding a meeting because you think you are expected to ("it's the company's tradition") or is today's meeting a continuation of those of Friday?
We should keep meetings short and result focused. Meetings eat up a lot of productive time if not well managed.
Look at the infographic below, which of them struck a chord?
For me it is "60% of meeting attendees take notes to appear as if they are listening "- abeg who is fooling who?
Remember, hold meetings unless they are required, some issues can be resolved via email or in a group chat (on MS Team or Slack) or one on one with a colleague.
Let us save time (and the earth) to do more productive work.
Enjoy your work weekend.
